The event where Mt Buller's ski community comes together in a blizzard of freeskiing and music.

Mt Buller's great freeskier pilgimage, FreeBOM asks competitors and spectators alike to free their animal spirit and enter the blizzard of BOM. FreeBOM nourishes the Mt Buller community through inclusion and collaboration. This event is for all Buller freeskiers to honour the mountain, the people and the art of freeskiing.
FreeBOM is open to all skiers of any age or discipline. FreeBOM asks competitors to ski with grace, passion and dance the line between chaos and control. The format is relaxed, competitors are required to ski down in front of judges, showing off their interpretation of FreeBOM and the art of freeskiing. Prizes are awarded to all ages and genders based on skiing, dressing, airing, falling and FreeBOMing.
This year the event goes nocturnal, running under lights on Bourke Street. As in 2024, the course will be a freestyle slalom mix of hand-built and cat-built features, including race gates, snow play and terrain park elements.
We believe that through participation and the creation of shared memory we can build a more resilient Mt Buller ski community.
