TBR: Strength & Conditioning
ABOUT
Freestyle skiing places immense impact on the bodies of our young athletes. It is essential that their muscles and nervous systems be trained to withstand these strong forces. This requires two things; teaching the body to move properly and optimally, and building strength.
Loading the body with inefficient movement patterns on the mogul course or jump landing increases the risk of injury. Safe and efficient movement must be learned and mastered without load before adding any external resistance (resistance in the form of weights, jump landings, moguls… It’s all the same!).
A great way to track the progress of your fitness and identify areas of weakness to focus on is to test yourself regularly. Below you can download the TBR S&C Testing Protocol with instructions for testing yourself at home.
