FreeBOM this Saturday

15/8/2018

The 5th Annual FreeBOM is this Saturday and we encourage all TBR athletes and parents to enter. It is the day where ALL Mt Buller skiers come together with music to freeski.

FreeBOM asks competitors and spectators alike to free their animal spirit and celebrate a day on Mt Buller with skiing and music. FreeBOM nourishes the Mt Buller community through inclusion and collaboration.

The format is relaxed, competitors are required to ski down in front of judges, showing off their interpretation of FreeBOM and the Hot Dog philosophy. Prizes are awarded to all ages, genders and families based on skiing, dressing, airing, falling and FreeBOMing.

Bull Run Bowl’s Natural Amphitheatre is the venue and Wood Run the stage. Bumps, a bustling crowd, music and a chairlift over head shape this once in a season atmosphere.

Please join the fun.

Top junior talent in action at the 2018 jNats

9/8/2018

Picture
Australia’s best junior freestyle talent has put on an impressive show in difficult conditions at the 2018 Junior National Mogul Championships (jNats) at Mt Buller.

Unfortunately bad visibility reduced the competition from one to two runs, but in a test to each athletes mental resolve, they stepped and gave their best in the difficult conditions.

The course for this year’s event was one of the best, featuring 200m of moguls and two table top jumps.

Such a high-quality course is often not seen on Chamois until late in the season and comes on the back of the Olympic Training Centre agreement, summer earth works, early season snowfalls and snowmaking.

The event attracted over 80 athletes from Mt Buller, Falls Creek and Mt Hotham, competing across two separate age groups. Winners of the Junior division (19 and under) took away $600 cash from Mark Adams Real Estate, with the Youth division (13 and under) winning $200. All podium athletes received prizes from Bolle.

Many thanks to the event sponsors, Mark Adams Real Estate, Bolle and especially Mt Buller.
